When the PRHC Foundation launched the Campaign for PRHC, we knew it would take a bold vision and an even bolder community of supporters to bring it to life. Today, we’re thrilled to share just how far we’ve come, thanks to your amazing generosity.
As of June 30, 3035, together we’ve raised an outstanding $58,863,702 – that’s 84% of the $70 million goal.
“We quietly launched in 2020 and went public last year, and through it all, our generous regional community of donors has been with us,” says Lesley Heighway, President & CEO of the PRHC Foundation. “Behind this incredible number are thousands of individuals, families, organizations and businesses who are making it possible. Every donor, every gift, every show of support is helping us reimagine health and care for our region.”
Because of your early campaign generosity, impact is already being felt inside PRHC through completed investments such as:
- A new, secure, outdoor healing space for patients in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) that just opened this summer and is now playing a critical role in the healing and recovery of some of PRHC’s most vulnerable mental health patients.
- The Reactivation Care Centre, a new inpatient care space designed to prepare patients for their return home.
- Two new CT scanners and an additional MRI machine that are allowing patients to receive faster, more accurate diagnoses and treatment decisions, for cancer and other conditions.
- Minimally invasive technology in four of PRHC’s general operating rooms, which is improving surgical outcomes and reducing recovery times.
- New equipment in the Emergency Department that supports PRHC’s designation as a Level III Trauma Centre and is helping care teams provide lifesaving treatment when every second counts.
- A Cardiac Cath Lab upgrade, resulting in better visuals, shortened procedures, and reduced radiation exposure for patients and staff.
This campaign isn’t only about the impact we’re seeing today, it’s about what comes next. With your continued support, we’ll help bring digital pathology to our region, enabling PRHC’s lab team to deliver vital diagnostic information to doctors faster. We’ll also help fund a state-of-the-art cardiac electrophysiology (EP) lab at PRHC, so patients with electrical conditions of the heart can be diagnosed and treated closer to home. And together, we’ll help bring a hybrid operating room to our region that will transform vascular care for thousands of patients every year by allowing surgeons to perform diagnostic imaging, minimally invasive procedures, and open surgery all in the same room, on the same day, resulting in better outcomes and shorter recovery times.
