On Saturday, June 14, the 2025 Peterborough’s Dragon Boat Festival will be back at Little Lake in Del Crary Park, Peterborough for a great day on the water in support of PRHC Foundation and cancer care at Peterborough Regional Health Centre! Get your team together and get ready to #GetInTheBoat! Registration and more information is available online now.
We’re so grateful for this beloved event and vital fundraiser which has raised more than $4.5 million since 2001 to help fund world-class cancer and breast cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment at PRHC.
With the number of cancer cases in the area increasing, the demand for cancer care services is also on the rise. Last year, there were more than 23,000 cancer patient visits to PRHC. And since the government doesn’t fund equipment, our hospital counts on donations to purchase the tools they need to support earlier diagnosis, and safer, more effective treatment.
This year, the Festival will support the PRHC Foundation’s $60 million Campaign for PRHC – the largest fundraising initiative in the hospital’s and Foundation’s history. A key priority of the campaign is cancer care, and with the continued support of Peterborough’s Dragon Boat Festival, PRHC will be able to bring cutting-edge technology that will increase the speed and accuracy of diagnosis and treatment, such as digital pathology, to its laboratory.
On behalf of everyone at PRHC, especially patients and their families, thank you to the organizing committee, Survivors Abreast and all of the passionate sponsors, volunteers, participants, vendors, donors, and supporters who make the Festival a success every year! #PaddlesUp!
